Hi all.
We have recently completed accounts for a small ltd company using Excel. We are trying to submit the CT return but having logged onto the HMRC site, it says that we need to use commercial software. I initially thought we could use the online filling that HMRC offers. The accounts have been audited but we need to tag them with iXBRL before attaching them to CT return.
TaxCal stopped their ixbrl conversion tool and the only way to get this done is to buy their accounts package. Unfortunately I cant seem to find a way of importing the excel files. Looks like I have to start again in preparing the accounts using TB import.
Is there any way of tagging the excel file without going through that process? And then using the TaxCal to do the actual return.
This all new to me. So you can help.
Thank you.

I had a similar situation a couple of years ago where a large company had created accounts in Word. I used the Iris Open iXBRL service and it was great. You just send them a Word or Excel version of the accounts and they send you an HTML version with all the iXBRL tags.

Also, you could check with DataTracks for iXBRL tagging services. We have solutions for Making Tax Digital (MTD) as well.
