JRS Claim - Bank Details

Who dreamed up the idea of having to include the bank address?

Surely the sort code should be enough. There's hardly any local branches left anyway.

It's the address that the bank statements get sent to, not the branch address - still sometimes a guess though!

Panicked for a minute there, as I had put our (employer) address and suddenly worried I should have put branch!

Most businesses receive digital not paper statements. Don’t HMRC realise that?

Why not the registered office address or the payroll address?

Are they going to do AML checks with banks before paying out?

This confused us this morning so we queried this via the webchat with HMRC. We were told it was address the bank statements get sent to.

We also rang the helpline and they were telling us it was the bank's address.
