Leaving Sage Payroll

Didn't find your answer?

My boss wants to swich from Sage Instant Payroll to Brightpay.

The Sage Instant subscription is paid monthly. Is it possible to switch mid year, or is the Sage subscription payable in full ?

Many thanks

The question of payment regularity may not reconcile with the contract arrangement.

Personally, I'd doubt that your firm can just "walk".

Have you tried reading the contract?

Switching payroll midyear to another software product can be a painful process. If you've got lots of employees, wait until next April. If there are just one or two, it shouldn't be too much extra hassle.
Unless you've printed out all the reports for each payroll, you will need to keep your Sage data in accessible form for at least 3 years even if you stop using it, so you're probably stuck with the Sage sub for a while yet.

It's very unlikely you'll be able to just walk away. Have a look over the contract and plan your exit accordingly. In the meantime, why not start the process of moving the payroll data from Sage to Brightpay using the import facility in Brightpay. That way you will be ready to go when the time is right.

I'd be interested to know if Sage have taken legal action against a company that simply stopped paying. Anyone? Either way, moving away from Sage is worthwhile. Don't hesitate!
