Length of time to receive a UTR for a newly...

Didn't find your answer?

Greetings all.

My past experience has been that form CT41G has normally been issued within a week of a new company being formed.

I formed a company in the first week of March for a CIS client and we’re still waiting for a UTR to be issued.  As the client is under the CIS scheme this is a major problem as they can’t give it to their client for verification.

We tried to file a monthly return for March over the phone but were told that as there was no UTR linked to the PAYE codes they couldn’t capture a nil return.  However we were advised that we could appeal against a penalty for late filing!!!

Is anyone else experiencing this sort of delay?  Can anyone suggest who we can ring up to shout at?  CIS helpline says that they can’t help and to ring the tax office.  Local tax office is constantly engaged.

Any advice will be more than welcome.

Thanks

HMRC may as well be closed down

HMRC has collapsed.

Nobody knows anything.

One of my clients has come to me asking why her request to complete a tax return has been sent to Poland when she lives in London. I will phone them tomorrow but I know what the answer will be - they won't know why.

I am going to send letters to HMRC and if they take six months to reply then that will be my excuse. I'm fed up of getting constantly engaged phone sounds and people who don't know anything.
