Logging onto HMRC site

Can't log onto HMRC site

Didn't find your answer?

Hi, I've been trying to log onto the HMRC site using a couple of client's user names and passwords but it just keeps refreshing the same page. It says "stay signed in and go to HMRC". I click on that but it just brings the same page up. It's fine when I use my agent details. Is anyone else having this problem ? Thanks

Have you closed and re-opened the window? I sometimes have issues if I go from our login to a personal one without closing all my browsers first.

I had this problem yesterday.

Even though I hadn't been logged in as agent, it was obviously still remembering my last agent login. So trick was to log in as agent and sign out (I usually just close the browser). It then allowed me access via individual login details.

Thanks for the advice. I've tried logging out, clearing cookies, turning the pc off and on, clearing the memory. Nothing seems to work. I've messaged hmrc and they will get back to me in a couple of days (hopefully).

I've just tried on it my phone and it let me through :). Must be something to do with my internet provider. Thanks everyone.

Oh! The other issue I sometimes have is if I follow a link to a page that is agents only (so my bookmark for example) it asks for my login, but if you don't put an agent login it just gets confused (as it is trying to take you to a page that doesn't exist for you).

So maybe try logging in through a Google search (so you go to a vanilla login rather than trying to go directly to a page)?

Ah, so I am not the only one going crazy with this issue. From the last couple of days I have been trying to login to my personal gateway account and I am receiving the same error message. I have tried everything, log out, clear browse history, clear cookies but it is just not disappearing. I was resigning to letting it go for a week and then trying again.

Are those experiencing problems using a bookmark, or navigating from the HMRC home page.

I've noticed in the last two days that the agent specific login has gone, and you now get there via the standard login to HMRC services on the home page.

This suggests that there have been some backend changes.

"This suggests that there have been some backend changes."

I have't noticed anyone changing my backend, but it seems possible.

Hi, I work at a company that has only one user name to log on. I am experiencing the same problem and had to revert to a paper EC Sales List return (fortunately only a handful of customers.) Any help would be appreciated.

I've been going crazy over this issue too, as it won't let me login. However, I just realised that last time I logged into the gateway using a different browser, so i just went into that browser and tried to login and "hey" success. Appears HMRC own system remembers the browser information and you need to login via the same link.

I am having exactly the same problem. Lets me log into agents portal but none of my own ie my own SA or my limited company ones. Going to be a problem when I have to do my vat ! Was a problem all of last week . Am away this week for half term so thought I'd try when I got back but just tried on the hotel PC in Hungary and it still wont let me in so clearly not an ISP or local issue . Lets it send a code to my mobile but wont log in after that. page just refreshes. Any ideas how to solve this ?
