This has happened before, but not for some time. I log in to the new agent services account, then I log out and try to log in to the old agent site, and cannot get to it, only the new site appears, without the chance to enter a new 12 digit code and password. But if I delete all my cookies, then it works, is this normal?
And a second question: asking a client to authorize me for Making Tax Digital for VAT, I was asked for my VAT Agent ID. What is that? I'm only aware of the codes for SA, CT and PAYE

The new ASA login page on HMRC is a different page (although looks the same) as the login page for the original agents gateway accounts. To get into the old one just go to the normal hmrc site (via google not via any page you have bookmarked) and click the login button
I have the following two web addresses saved next to each other and these have neever failed me - if one of the two fails i ensure i have logged out of agent area and then try and login under the other one - once in i log back out straight away and the one that was not working now works. Alternatively if that fails try other browser or dreaded clear your history and or cookies.
