Looking for an accountant

Looking for accountant for 4 Ltd companies

Didn't find your answer?

Hi,

Hope this is in the right place.

I am looking for an accountant for 4 Ltd companies. Location is not an issue as I use a courier to send / collect paperwork.
I prepare excel spreadsheets so book-keeping is not required. We do not take cash. Each company is VAT registered. 1 is new.

I need year end accounts, corp tax and personal tax return.
I use an old version of sage for invoicing, VAT and stock control

Not a lot to go on, and the "I use Sage and spreadsheets" thing is a bit confusing particularly from a MTD 4 VAT perspective but could be of interest.

Thanks for your reply, but no specific question I can answer.

feel free to send me a PM with your contact details and I can answer any questions.
I wouldn't go into too much detail here in any case but happy to talk to
anyone as I just have and had a great chat with someone willing to quote.

Thanks all.

If only 1 company is new, assume you have accountant for other 3. Can I ask why are you looking to change?

Yes, I have an accountant, have been in business for 20+ years.
Looking to change.

If you send me your details in a PM we can talk.
We don't do any cash transactions, so nothing too taxing!

Umm that's actually me, although people tell me I look a bit like Liam Neeson.

Happy holidays!

Heh heh.... yeah. My unique set of skills is that I'm a Liam Leeson lookalike :)

Now and again I behave like him. Not deliberately, just coincidentally. Just like Liam's superdaddy Hollywood films, yours truly has a beautiful daughter who was nailed down with a scummy-brummy snd needed rescuimg. Family mobilised, we snatched her into our car and transported her south. Whem old bill caught up with us in Cornwall - we went off radar by ducking and diving our way through Wa;es until the Severn Bridge - our precious daughter was able to validate us as her parents and her brothers and stave the Cornwall Constabulaty off. Umm.. accountant, teacher, nurse, engineer versus drug-dealing brummy ex-boyfriend, with a super-friendly Dorset copper on our side (Lordy, we led them a merry dance that night... they lost us south of Birmngham. didn't pick us up until the stretch between the old Severn Bridge and the Bath turning off the M4 (10 minutes on) and imagined we would head for home in Bournemouth (we turned west instead at Albuquerque).

Fun times, I guess.

Specific question. How much is your current accountant charging?

It still won't be nearly enough information for anyone else to quote you, but it will at least give an indication of whether further enquiries are worthwhile.

Fees may not be the only or main reason the OP is looking to change ...

True, but it sets a baseline of what they expect to pay. Knowing that would give people an idea of whether it is likely to fall within their own price structure and hence whether it was worth following up.

Always worth having a frank discussion about fees before proceeding.

Client expects to pay £3k.

You prepare a lovely proposal for £8k

Turns out to be a complete waste of time.

Thank you all for your responses, I am overwhelmed responding to the private messages and have just finished. Everyone I have spoken to has been great.

Please keep them coming and I will get back to you after the bank holiday.

If you haven't guessed even though I have said I cannot answer some questions on here for obvious reasons, message me with your contact details... let's talk. It's good to talk!

Don't be negative, life is great. Don't waste time looking for things that are not there. If it is not in your interest to contact me...don't. Each person that has sent me a PM has been positive which has been much more than the replies here.

I am really happy I sent this message and the responses I have had. Great site. I have not even had time to read the replies here as I have had so many people contact me by private message and each one has gone well.

I will check back next week and respond to each private message and make contact.
Finally... thank you so much for contacting me.
