Low emissions car - personal use percentage?

Low emissions car - personal use percentage?

Didn't find your answer?

I am planning to buy a new low emissions car (<110g) before the end of March. During tax year 2010/11 my usage has been split almost exactly 50/50 between business and personal. However, now that I am starting a 2nd business I predict that the usage for the new car will be more like 60% business use. As I will not receive the car until the new tax year, which figure should I use to determine the percentage of the purchase price to claim capital allowance on?

60%

I'd go for the % you anticipate and then, if materially different, you can always go back and amend it.

PS: Congratualtions, there are not many people in our industry, who would admit to wanting such a car.

No shame!

I have a Mini One diesel that has emissions of 99gm/km. It's a great car to drive and I really like the 60mpg. Where's the shame in that?

Is it time for a new discussion group?

"How Small is Yours?"  Count me in!  I too can only manage 107 at the moment but I'm waiting for China to flood us with electric cars @ £5K each.

Me Too

I'm also waiting for China to mass produce them. Or even an electric car that is £5K. Petrol prices are crazy.
