Migrate client to the cloud (bigger client)??

I'm looking for recommendations to migrate a £10m T/O client to the cloud

Didn't find your answer?

I have a £10m turnover client in the retail sector that has 50 independent stores and currently uses Sage 50 Accounts (desktop). They are increasingly using cloud apps and would benefit from the ability to bolt on certain apps, in addition to the store related EPOS that gathers sales/cash stats. Currently feeding Sage is a big manual effort and the volume of transactions is high. Setting up bank feeds is likely to be a little cumbersome and having Accountant/Client simultaneous access through the cloud would be very useful (not Sage Drive but true cloud). Off the shelf apps such as Sage Business Cloud, Xero, QB etc are unlikely to be man enough for the job and essentially we could do with a Sage 50 Accounts alternative in the cloud. Any suggestions that would be worth looking at would be greatfully received!

Hi Clive

I would look at Bright Pearl https://www.brightpearl.com great bit of software built in POS and man enough to cope with numbers you are talking about. Based in Bristol. Not sure what line of business your client is in, but it also has excellent Warehousing management tools as well. Quite a mature product has been around for a while.

Thanks

£10m on Sage 50 - wow!

I use Sage 200 on £4m, on premise though. They do have a cloud option, I believe.

Turnover isn't your limiting factor when choosing a cloud product - transaction volumes are. So, when you say they are high, how high? How many sales, purchases and bank transactions per month, and how many invoice lines on average are processed.

Also, what systems are they already using and what do they integrate with? Would they be willing to change to make things work better?

There are lots of options but you can't expect anyone to give you an insightful answer without knowing more about current systems and processes.

Hi Clive

I work on finance system replacement projects where Sage 50 is the most common package that I replace as clients look to combine a move to the Cloud with a more sophisticated solution. Most of our clients fall into the £5-50m turnover category of growing UK businesses. This often require better reporting structure with a more sophisticated chart of accounts that Sage will allow as well as integration options to take data feeds from 3rd parties.

Similarly to your client, we have a implemented various finance systems where we interface with 3rd party systems such as EPoS & Ecommerce orders into our Finance system via our integration tool set.

Let me know if you would like to arrange a call to discuss further.

Hi Clive, there really isn't enough to go on to give you a more comprehensive answer.

To answer your question about high volume processing, Twinfield is really good for a Cloud product.
I don't think it is as functionally rich as Sage 50, but I have integrated EPOS data with it and it doesn't seem to have any of the restrictions that the better known Cloud systems have.

Pretty solid.

Really the same answer as others here. It does require a bit more analysis. You could pick any number of software titles but you do really need someone to come in and work with you and the client to find the right solution. I have been doing this kind of thing for a while now.
