Migration from Taxfiler to Iris Elements

We are still unable to use the new Iris Elements

Didn't find your answer?

We migrated from Taxfiler to Iris Element in April with the Iris support team and they were unable to complete the task on the day. Support then tried to migrate the data in the following week, which failed their end. We were then left with no access to either platform. Eventually, they granted access back into Taxfiler. A month on we are in the same position.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

yes a very high number of people - look back through the threads here and its similar woes literally every couple of weeks regular as clockwork.

note we hade the same experience back in 2016 when we had forced migration - we made the sensible decision to move elsewhere where the new supplier (btc) got us fully up and running in literally no time !

you would think in buisness you wouldnt give your customer agood excuse to want to leave normally seems iris dont care as i have to presume its the same or similar issues that keep happeningb - anything but temporary glitches imho

They've been bought out by the Bright group who HG Capital also own so don't run into another sinking ship

the running of bright group and iris is like night and day - i have noticed no detoriation in quality in the btc service since the merged intom] "bright group" infact we now run brightpay for payroll and that has always had a fairly dewcent reputation on these boards - the customer services from bith more than acceptable. Ultimately the same private equity may fund two similar entity types at the same time but have little influence on how stuff is run.

imho btc and brightgroup have always been decent and iris has alwasy ben like the devil incarnate.

Note its over 12 months since btc moved to brightgroup - so imho is deserves the respect of being judged on its own meits raher than being compared to a completely different entity that has similar funding sources.

You ought to frequent payroll forums instead of the echo chamber in here then. No end of posts about a decrease in service in the last 12 months, especially for users of the desktop version because Bright just want you to use the under-featured and over-priced cloud version

we use the desktop version and have not really had any issues whatsoever either with the program or trying to get through to support since we started using lat year . obviously not having had any major technical problems i cant comment on how support would "get it sorted" but they do answer the phone and go through any useage queries and if needs be go away and find out answers if they dont know - ditto the same for btc - had plenty of glitches over the years with btc but pretty much without exception they sort same day - or advise when timely update will come.
So supporet is there are they have never been awol imho - with iris it simply seems like there is no level of support whatsoever when things dont work.

Obviously if brightpay are slower are sorting glitches than they were that is not great but you have not even linked anything useful here that can be fact checked.

Note as a very populare proiduct i would expect to see quiite a few posts - note on here moneysoft which we all know is a decent product gets more posts asking for help sorting than brightpay - so what you are saying deosnt make much sense - if there were unresolved brightpay issues i would expect more people [***] here and they dont.

note we have fairly chunky payrolls too and run server with remote access so we are the kind of business i wopuld expect that runs into glitches if there were any.

Dont get me wrong like any big buisness brightpay could do better - eg if we didnt have to manually pull through journals - still no car p46 form i dont think unless that just turned up now ? - so it wont be for everyone.

ref cloud i think they themselves admit thats a work in progress ref features.

overall imho they mostly provide trouble free product and that for us is key
