I have been using VT Final Accounts for a while although im still not "fluent" with all the nuances, i have had a member of staff recommend Money Manager Final Accounts as she has used them in a previous employment and claims it was easier to use. My renewal with VT is up soon and i have had a number of issues with the software and am considering moving. Has anybody used Money Manager Final Accounts and able to recommend them?

It has it's limitations

I use Money Manager for all my book-keeping and so Final Accounts was an obvious add on. However it will not prepare accounts to a good standard for clients - they are only really draft quality. Nor does it have the facility to create a pdf file to email the 'draft' accounts to clients. It is also advisable to start a new Money Manager file each year and copy the codes etc across, rather than running the year end and creating a file for next year that way - you cannot alter debtors/creditors if you do this. This may only apply if you use Money manager for book-keeping - but I don't think the final accounts version would work too well if you didn't. Hope this makes sense!

Company Accounts

I've used Moneysoft Final Accounts for sole traders quite successfully.  Sometimes, for presentation purposes, I export it to spreadsheet, from which you can make a *.pdf attachment.   I also make do with HTML for sending ad hoc breakdowns to clients.  Like its parent, Money Manager, it hasn't been updated for years so you're better sticking with VT or some other template for company accounts.
