We use Emisoft as our AntiVirus, on Friday Moneysoft Emailer stopped working with the "cannot connect to email server" error.
I assume its because (I'm guessing) Emisoft isn't a big name, that it's not mentioned in the MS notes re Norton etc.
MS say that it's trying to connect to O365 but timing out becuase it's being blocked. My IT people say the email is working fine, its something in the software.
Don't suppose anyone else is using Emisoft as has an issue?

Search for earlier Q&A in this site regarding a similar subject - not saving - which had something to do with MS & anti virus not playing well. I think about a week ago.
It seems to be recurring theme.
Is it email provider
microsoft
antivirus
or is it moneysoft
Cant see why you wouldnt be able to switch off antivirus temporarily to rule that out.
Im also presuming its not moneysoft (there would be mass mutiny) - although you would be wise to check settings havent been reset somehow ?
That probably leaves microsoft and microsoft
I have seen so many times microsoft updates affect random security setting on all acountancy software or with programs that it can be a nightmare to find out what box needs ticking where.
Just keep prodding them all and loking at old articles to see if any fixes may work.
Can you try different mix of computers / moneysoft and firewall installs to see if there is different combo that will work
Could you setup bvack mail provider as emergency use ? - if you can flipo setting to different mail provider that may lead you in the right direction?
I'd say your issue is using Norton.
Bloat ware with high memory usage. Never liked it.
And had trouble using it with moneysoft, easiest fix was to dump it and use a different AV
"I'd say your issue is using Norton."
On then basis the op aint using norton i dont think its fair to be be blaming norton here.
I use Microsoft Office 365 and I have the same problem. I bought Moneysoft 3 months ago and I am not able to use the email. My IT guy after spending 2 hours investigating at £40 per hour says Microsoft seems to be OK, must be something with Moneysoft. I quit investigating it.
I use Microsoft Office 365 and I have the same problem. I don´t use any antivirus apart from the Azure security of Microsoft (which my IT guy says is better than Norton which is what I used to have).
