Moneysoft employee/employer passwords

Possible to retrieve?

Didn't find your answer?

A rather embarrassing situation this morning.  I have a payroll client who has asked me to send some payroll info to his Accountant but after saving the reports to pdf they are password protected with the employer password, as per GDPR.  Unfortunately I no longer have  a record of it and although I have requested this one back from the client I was just wondering if it is possible to retrieve the passwords via Moneysoft. I really should have had it stored separately.

No you would have needed to keep a separate record of it but you could probably change it and resend or choose to send with no password.

I get my employees to text the pw to me so I have a record.

That's how I do it but checking back on texts I never had a record, so it's possible we had a verbal conversation.

I've now done a PDF of all Moneysoft passwords which is password protected so hopefully I don't forget my own password :-)

My employer passwords are only added when I email the reports, those saved as a pdf from within Moneysoft aren’t passworded.

Alternatively print the report then scan it.

I normally email straight from Moneysoft but historically client has received payslips and employer report in one email, so I pdf them instead. Never even thought of printing then scanning to solve the problem. Thanks

If its the employer password can you go back in untick the box/tick for no password and re-do?

Yes, I nearly did that but client gave me password it so I got it sorted. Thanks for the suggestion.
