More problems with PAYE Coding Notices

Didn't find your answer?

Has anyone else noticed that some of the notes to the PAYE Coding Notices for 2010/11 are incorrect?  I have recieved a few but here is one example:- "£9640.00 is the personal allowance for people who are between 65 and 74 at 5 April 2011 with total income for the year over £22900."  Actually, £9640 is the personal allowance for people who are 75 and over at 5 April 2011 with total income for the year up to £22900.  Isn't it?  This is just going to add to the confusion for elderly people who are already very confused by the entries in their PAYE codes.

We have also received several coding notices addressed to businesses that used to operate from the same address as ours but have not done for over 10 years!  The new PAYE system seems to be picking up data from way back.  Another waste of time and money for us all!

Maybe they know what's going to be in the budget ?

age allowance

Actually spoke to them on this one. The printed words are the incorrect bit; age related allowances are correctly given for people aged 75+, provided they have got the income sources right, of course!
