MTD Bridging Software

Hello Everyone

Currently running version 24 Sage, and having difficulty updating in the short term due to server requiements.

Looking for a short term solution for MTD to cover VAT submissions for a couple of quarters.

Is there any bridging software you can recommend that I can use to submit exported Sage data?

Also, what are the current requirements of MTD? Is it still basically the same nine boxes, or is further information with regard to the individual transactions also required?

Thanks

Not a recommendation, but just to let you know that HMRC have recently updated their list of MTD for VAT software suppliers which allows you to filter specifically for bridging software - hope this helps.

Hi,

Just to make you aware, you can do an MTD return from V24 provided that it is the subscription product, so even if you have upgraded to V25 on subscription, you could just use the V24 to make submissions until you are able to install the upgrade.

If you want to drop me an email to clarify it all for you its [email protected]

Hello Kevin

Thanks for your response. This was very useful. I have had many conversations with regard to MTD and the need to upgrade to Sage v25, both over the phone and face-to-face with Sage. Following your post I contacted Sage again, who when I asked specifically about v24 being MTD compliant have agreed it is.....so long as its 24.2 and over, and there is an error on QE 31.03.2019 returns if its not v24.3 and over!

Anyway this has solved the problem, as we no longer need to upgrade. The Sage guy also went through the Box I need to tick in Sage to make in MTD compliant when the submission is made.

Of course v24 perpetual licence was perfectly adequate for submitting returns electronically in the preMTD world. It's a shame that Sage have chosen to take core functionality out of the product and turn it into a sales opportunity.

Now that MTD has hit the headlines and nearly all commentators are against it I would not file anything under MTD and that t he only way HMRC will have to do something . You must look at the HoC debate on it when Mel Stride repeatedly lied over and over again to save his neck. I am not a political animal but am very worried about the people in charge of the Country .

Forbes Computers Bridging Software has a SAGE input button on it.

Hi,

Sorry to self promote but forced updates for compliance really grinds my gears! As long as you can export your VAT 100 data (or transactions that make up) into Excel, we can help you file via the MTD API completely free of charge. Will work on all legacy systems that you can get this output data, I can help advise if you can only download as PDFs. Check us out here..
