Hi
I was wondering about the following scenario:
I've been invited to join the QuickBooks Online Essentials team for a Limited company to do their VAT record keeping for MTD. I've set up an HMRC agent services account (ASA). Would I be better using MTD compatible software to add other clients if and when i need to or sign up as the client using their QBs online account. Or should I try and register QBs as an Agent instead?
I hope this makes sense.
Many thanks.

Just use QBO if the bookkeeping data is already/going to be in there. No point having separate bridging software.
You should not be filing the clients VAT as if you were the client, you need to do it as agent.
If you are not one already, set yourself up as a QBO Pro Advisor, then they can add you as their bookkeeper and you then file as an agent. You can add as many clients as you wish to QBO, if clients are happy for you to use that software.
You may also have additional bridging software.
If they use QB then file from there, why would you file from a different software if they are already using MTD compliant software?
If another client uses Xero then you enter your agent credentials again and file from there. You are not restricted to specific software if that is what you are asking.
Given your earlier post, are you still registered as a VAT agent? You may find that you have been stripped of that whilst you re-register for MLR.
Also, didnt you say you were retiring?!
Thought the 'why' would be obvious.....
Too much stress, too much cr*p, too little time left on this earth.
Apart from those, who knows?.
