Taxcalc CT attachment - help!

Didn't find your answer?

I've a ltd client (A) who is surrendering tax losses to 2 group companies (B&C). As it's more than 1, TaxCalc says that I can't use their schedule as the Notice Consent To Surrender.

I have photocopied the schedule tippexing out each of the 2 recipients, so now have 2 bits of paper, one that only shows B and one that only shows C. I scanned these in and attached the 2 PDFs, as requested by TaxCalc to the CT600 for A. The submission has just failed, apparently because HMRC only accept attachments < 50KB.

WTF. What do I do now?

Sounds like an issue with Taxcalc rather than HMRC. HMRC accept attachments up to about 25MB, so there will be no problem with a 50KB attachment. We have attached docs such as R&D claims that are several MB in size with no problems (but not in Taxcalc).

Hmm, it was TaxCalc's 'knowledge bank' that mentioned HMRC's 50KB limit. Now you mention it though, I have sent R&D claims through TaxCalc.

It's with TaxCalc support as we speak ...
