Non-IR35 contractors and travel, since Autumn Statement

Non-IR35 contractors and travel, since Autumn...

Didn't find your answer?

Hello,

So further to the Autumn Statement, is it correct that, despite what was otherwise expected, non-IR35 limited company contractors may continue to claim for travel and subsistence after 6 April 2016?

And, does this apply even if the contractor finds most of their work via agencies?

Thanks.

That is my understanding

Until we get the draft legisation on 9 December 2015 we can't be sure. However, the Autumn Statement documents indicate that unless the contractor is caught by IR35 the rules for travel and subsistance will not change in 2016/17.

Although there is a full review of travel and subsistance underway, so changes in teh tax rules may be impossed from 2017/18.

Thank you. Even knowing that there is still a slight lack of clarity does help.
