What's your question?
It looks like you're speaking on behalf of a limited company, but referring to the self-employed scheme.
But bear in mind also that we can only provide answers from the guidance and information with which we have been provided.

An answer to what question?

Do accountants think the £50,000 self employed limit is arbitrary and unfair?

Yes, they do.

Perhaps he’s expecting accountants to bail out such businesses?

Perhaps the reason "nobody has an answer" is that there is no answer?

The government is shaking the magic money trees as hard as it can and a great many people and businesses have been promised fruit from them. If you feel that you have been neglected, that's a discussion to have with your MP rather than ranting at accountants.

I'm sure that your accountants will be able to determine what you and your business can claim and to help you claim it.

David,

Presumably you have already had a similar rant to your accountants Jamie Smith &/or Darren Moyan?

I bet they were really chuffed at your attitude at what is probably the busiest time in their professional lives.

EVERYONE is taking a bath on this financially, and some people are dying. And quite rightly government is mainly concerned with the dying bit.

Pull your finger out and come up with your own solution rather than expecting government to step in. I imagine you also have a rant about how big your tax bill is each year too.

I think my rant touched a nerve
But it's purely out of frustration and no offense is intended
I really should know this but I did it any way
I have lots if things in place and Moynan Smith don't get any grief they are excellent
I'll duck out now as I'm busy trying to sort this awful mess out
Take care be safe

Think yourself lucky, the more tenants we lose not only does the rental income disappear but our costs increase as the rates payable/insurance/utility standing charges on the empty units then all fall upon us, even the furloughing of staff does not help us as there is only one paid employee-me and none of the various rates schemes assist.

Have you tried a loan using CBIL?
