A Cypriot resident company (with its own shareholder/ director living permanently in Cyprus) has beneficially owned 50% of fully-participating shares in a UK trading company (incidentally the other 50% shareholder is a UK company) in last 2 years. It now wants to transfer its 50% to the UK shareholder company which owns the other 50%. Is the Cypriot company liable to any tax on any capital gain on the shares? many thanks
