Non Union Moss return

Charge out fee

Didn't find your answer?

I hope everyone is enjoying a crisp sunny morning?

I am about to prepare my first MOSS return on the Irish site, and I wondered what others were charging, now its moved away from the UK? (Happy to chat over DM).  Has anyone increased their prices?  I'd be interest to hear.

Thanks and have a lovely day :)

Hi there
Lucky you I can't seem to get on the ROS system.
Client has given me their login details but something is going awry!!
Do I need to be set up with a TAIN?
Any advice gratefully received.
In answer to your question I will be charging the same as I did for their UK Moss return - not a great deal as only minimal digital supplies.

Email the Irish MOSS team... they are ridiculously organised, and replied to me within an hour, every time!!

I didn't set up a TAIN as I only have one client using the system, so will just log into their account and submit. I set this account with the help of the IE MOSS team. It was a bit of a process, as you get a verification code, and then retrieve the NU MOSS number. Then you have to download a digital certificate, which I think puts something on your machine.

Thank you - that's great to know.
We seem to be on the right lines.Client did download certificate and forwarded a copy to me and I have been trying to get it on mine.......
So Irish revenue on ball.Sad that HMRC have still to get back to me re UTR not matching EORI for same client - but that's another query!
(But if anyone has similar experience please let me know how you managed to resolve it haha!)

I don't think the client can just email you a copy of the certificate, the certificate is the main security protocol for accessing ROS.

But yes, the Irish tax office are super-efficient (and mega-friendly) and don't seem to be hit as hard with lockdown, Covid19, working from home or Brexit as HMRC are. Makes you think if HMRC are just using all of these things as excuses to hide the utter shambles that they really are.

Thanks Jason
I've emailed the Irish tax office and looking forward to their response.
Yes HMRC really don't do themselves any favours.

There is a process with the certificate - you have to create a folder on the C Drive, called RosCerts, that I think the browser then looks to. The MOSS team will give you word documents that explains it all.

I've just created that folder now, and moved the certificate into it, and that has changed the IE VAT browser window and now gives me a log in option.

Hope you get sorted :)

Sorry it doesn't answer your question but I have outsourced. I don't want to learn the rules and let my insurer know. Although if you have had to do this then I would definitely charge accordingly.

If you want me to find out what my clients are paying a specialist firm then I can do so.

Having trouble with the DRC rules and beginning to think I will just outsource all VAT now. All these changes are so complicated.

That's very kind of your to offer, thank you. It would be interesting to know.

I know how you feel about the learning side of things, its a minefield. I am struggling to find courses that go beyond the basic information, especially where services are concerned. And everything seems to talk about EU countries, and not the rest of the world.

I had a construction company take the bookkeeping in-house just before I was about to start looking at those rules. I was so relieved!!! Moreso because there has been so much to get the head around, it was one less thing to worry about. I don't know how other one-man-bands are coping, but I have certainly struggled this last 12 months.
