So as some may recall, my plan has, for several months, been to move to S Wales.
On Friday, I walked out of the office for the last time. A bit of an anti-climax since the whole Covid-19 debacle meant half the staff were still working from home, and pubs are not really geared up for things like leaving events, so very understated.
Tomorrow, I make the move, and next Monday I start the new job.
Still have a carp load of stuff to pack up, but had my leaving the town event yesterday, and still feeling delicate.
May not have internet for a couple of days, so I'll see y'all on the other side.

So, what you now need is soundtrack suggestions for the road trip.
Movin Out-Billy Joel
Already Gone-Eagles
2-4-6-8 Motorway-TRB (if you are driving)
East Bound and Down-Jerry Reed (but may be in wrong direction, you may be going West)
Edit-How could I forget
Moving On -Bad Company
What, of course, you do not want is;
Right Back Where We Started From-Maxine Nightingale
they have a Debenhams, now
In the current climate, that is impressive. Wetherspoons - less so.
"Newport, Newport, so good they named it twice." I'm going to visit if only to give that artiste a fiver, very witty.
Good luck with the move and the new job. Newport is often unfairly maligned, although if the clip is the one that I'm thinking of it is quite entertaining. Town centre is sometimes not great on a Friday night but there is some great countryside around.
If you fancy coming over to Rodney Parade to watch Newport RFC you'll be most welcome.
The other side sounds as if the bridge is over the Styx
You may be better off paying the ferryman.
There used to be a ferryman to cross the Severn Estuary. As a child I found it exciting going on that ferry. In retrospect, it's clear the ferry was a deathtrap!
Saw an old programme showing that ferry recently.Would never be allowed now, but was probably minimal risk at the time. Looked very rickety.
I love a weirdly-brewed beer. (I have a weird attraction towards the strange. Maybe makes me feel at home. Which I hope you will, BTW, and soon.)

And a strange attraction towards the weird.
