Now HMRC have taken my PAYE clients away from me!

... first my VAT clients now my PAYE ones

Didn't find your answer?

Ok... I give up.

First I couldnt submit my VAT returns under MTD

(see here https://www.accountingweb.co.uk/any-answers/congratulations-if-you-have-...)

Now I get an email from a client with 2 x PAYE penalties. 2nd time he's received this. The first time I rang , HMRC said it was an error, they would tell their 'back room' dept. I have acknowledgement references etc. confirming submission. That was 3 weeks ago.

Another demand. So I thought I'd check online. Get into the PAYE page OK,  clicked on each client in turn and ...for each I get:

"Page cannot be found.

If you typed the web address, check it is correct. If you pasted the web address, check you copied the entire address. If the web address is correct or you selected a link or button, contact HM Revenue and Customs if you need to speak to someone."

..Bit difficult to do that at the weekend. I'm obviously going to have a bad time on Monday.

I started getting this message yesterday. I've reported it and I'm waiting for someone on the IT helpline to get back to me. The call handler couldn't help and said it wasn't a known fault. It wasn't listed on the website yesterday as a service issue. Given you've got the same message it looks like a general fault.

Exactly my experience. Also getting the old "Sorry, you can't join the new tax agents service today." message when logging in.

You really couldn’t make this stuff up, could you?
However, I’m sure, once we’ve passed 31st October, the way ahead will be much clearer.

The PAYE client list is back but this has been updated and now looks like new SA client account, e.g. carp and seems that liabilities/payments section has disappeared.

Just checked all mine. Exactly the same. I presume this is just one of HMRC's issues that will obviously correct itself at some point - not that it will ever show the correct liablities when you do finally access it.
Its "Generic Notification" time. Ive got to the pointwere i wont waste much time on them.

Online services help desk refuse to look at this forum, so I suggest everyone affected contact them via the webchat. They are acting like I'm the only one.

Never mind all that. How has this thread attracted nearly 10,000 views in less than a couple of days?

I wondered something similar at 8,596 views.

Folk haven't been that interested in a thread since we all wondered how to show losses in excel.

Same for us.
List of clients is there.
When we try to click through we get the 'Page not found' error.

Hard to believe that was 20 years ago.

Hard to believe you're referencing something so modern! :-p

Cutting edge in my record collection (well actually a CD in this case) along with such current artists as Crowded House and REM.

I recently talked with my other half about her creating a database catalogue of our records/CDs etc as there is a place called Bannana Moon in Orebro,Sweden that I visit that sells secondhand vinyl; catch is there has been a recent tendency by me to buy things , get back home and discover I already have them. Such a catalogue would obviously need release year and that is when my somewhat dated music collection would be outed ; without having done the actual analysis I would guess something like 30% is 1960s, 50% is 1970s, 15% is 1980s, 4% is 1990s and 1% is more recent.

Just the most arrogant and, out of touch shisters that I've ever experienced.
How can any right minded individual have confidence in this agency?

Re Missing PAYE Client information

So I have given them the riot act today - after phoning them 6 times on various numbers as advised by their operators. Lost my cool and told them that they are not fit for purpose and that if they were a business they would have been shut down by regulatory bodies! They have no idea how to get round the problem - all I wanted to do was check that no coding notices had been issued for a particular clients sizeable payroll!! Oh no it appears that no-one at HMRC can do this - they advised that I check each individual employees personal tax via their NINO! What the actual!!?? So payroll being processed without the usual checks as HMRC are complete lunatics that cannot handle any changes why - because the computer says no and no one has a brain! PS I have a case number and they are getting back to me..... (I won't hold my breath)

The PAYE desk top viewer is still working if you just want to check coding notices

https://www.gov.uk/paye-online/desktop-viewer

Every accountant should have this as a back up

Phoned them this morning and they acknowledged it as a 'known issue'. Service level for a reply is 48 hours!! Still not back up for me as at 15:37 Monday.

Update... I thought I'd wait a day and then have another go...
>> same thing. 'Page could not be found' etc etc

I shouldnt really be surprised.

Way back in 2015 I thought I'd do my 'bit' towards RTI/PAYE beta and signed on. https://www.accountingweb.co.uk/community/blogs/jaadams/fraternising-wit...

Never again. After the system went 'live' the listings against each client were wrong... if they were shown at all that is.
I submitted ontime and correctly - for 2 years (yes.. you read that right... 2 years!) and only the clients for whom a CIS return was relevant showed the correct figs. Some showed no submissions at all
When I queried why and asked what could be done to remedy this I was told that 'this was a problem for those who had signed up for beta'; that it was a known issue but that they would not be dealing with the problem as it was not on their priority list'
So I gave up.
A year later I thought I'd ask again - this time I was asked to submit screenshots of each client and each problem (I'd done this at least once previously) but nothing was done.
It works now... or rather it did until this week.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but I still face the same issue but only for a handful of clients. Has this been resolved for other users on this thread?
