oh no it happened Taxfiler Acquired by IRIS

oh no it happened Tax Filer Acquired by IRIS

Didn't find your answer?

I was with Keytime and then IRIS took over . Moved to taxfiler and today I received an mail IRIS has taken over taxfiler.

Worried IRIS will have a virtually monopoly soon which probably means price increases.

I guess soon we'll have to buy spread sheets from IRIS at some point, when they take over Microsoft! My next-door neighbour now even works for IRIS, they do get around!

Good news and bad news.

Reminds me of The Office where David Brent announces redundancies and then fails to get a positive response from staff when he reveals he is being promoted.

'You're still thinking about the bad news, aren't you.'

Dear god, we've just moved as well and find it great with incredibly responsive support.

From past experience that will go straight down the toilet with Iris.

The main reason I joined was there being an imminent rollout of an API so I could link it with our bespoke online client management systems. I guess development on that will be sidelined while integration to the Iris family takes precedent.

I will probably go back to BTC which was a great product but integration wasn't ideal as not too far down the track having transferred a couple of hundred clients.

Don't want to be a downer but I can't see this ending well.

IRIS put peanut to taxfiler directors and bought them and actually they did not know how much that they were popular and how much they going to be popular very unfortunate.

IRIS and CCH cheating accountancy market very soon tax calc and BTC will be bought as well.

If taxfiler would have waited for an other year they would have been on top of every one.

I’m not sure this makes a difference. Gone are the times that accounting software is closed with us and our clients feeling locked into one provider. With open APIs to accounting data and HMRC, any crazy price decisions and immediately another provider will pop up.

In fact Sage’s Business Cloud Accounting already gives the accountant online Final Accounts and Corp Tax for free. The genie is well and truly out of the bottle and I’m sure it won’t be too long before there are lots of Taxcalc competes in the same way there are numerous receipt capture apps.

Win win for everyone.

There are numerous new cloud based accountancy suites that are both better and affordable.
I use both Taxfiler and Capium and the monthly cost of both is still only a tenth of the price I paid to IRIS, Sage and CCH.
Before everyone jumps ship surely we should give IRIS the benefit of the doubt!
If they start putting up the prices then we walk.
Better remember to start making documental backups now though.
Look you can not fault James and his partner for selling up, we work to make money.
