Do you like the one with the plinky jazzy guitar? Or the one with the groovy bass?
Or maybe it's neither of the above and you like the chillout one with the electric piano when you finally get through and they put you on hold again.

Or as happened last week.
Got through....... at last.
HMRC officer in a noisy environment.
Not dogs or children mind you.
Perhaps he was listening to :
Deep Purple
" Who do we think we are"
He then hung up.
As Tom Jones would wail
"It's Not Unusual"
Or as Jay-Z would say, "I've got 99 problems, but HMRC ain't one"
...Oh hang on wait , I've got 99 problems, and actually most of them are HMRC.
I have to say I didn't notice that there was more than one type of HMRC hold music -probably a good thing.
The 40+ minutes hold time gives me enough of a chance to get engrossed in other jobs, so I just have one ear out for a human voice (apart from getting tricked by that automated lady who keeps telling me that my call will soon be answered).
I quite enjoy Iron Maiden and Guns 'n Roses when I'm on hold to HMRC. Helps to drown out that damned plinky garbage that they set off down the phone.
I'd love to get to the on hold music.
In recent weeks I tend to go through all the bumph at the start, select my options, only to be told that all advisors are busy at the moment, and they're sorry they can't take my call. A bloody nightmare just now.
About time they changed their tune. The agent helpline one is ingrained with me now, even with a short on hold time, it's then in my head for the rest of the day. It's there again just writing this post.
My suggestion is that employees working at home should be be able to select their own choice of on hold music …
You do wonder how much longer this will be going on for.I am afraid that hanging on for thirty minutes is the most I can put up with.I had hoped this month the situation would have improved;but it hasn’t.Then you get Rishi disallowing SEISS claims when tax returns were not submitted on time, when you can’t get through to the Call Centre.Even allowing for Covid;HMRC are as in a bad as shape now as they ever have been.
After spending 4 hours before getting to speak to someone I would suggest I cant't get no satisfaction
