On line filing of CT600 CAP 31 March 2016

On line fiing of CT 600

Didn't find your answer?

Any body know how to get onto HMRC's "new" on line CT600 filing service? Going into the old Adobe PDF based one doesn't provide a link and I can't find one on their main website. Also can't get through to any help desk. Thanks

Do you mean to file as an agent or as the client? For the client there should be a link on the home page. For an agent, there is no longer a filing service.

Yes, and a terrible blow it is too to small, virtually retired practitioners. Am I right in also thinking that even clients with t/o > £632k can't use it either which is what one of the HMRC's web pages seems to imply so virtually everyone will be forced to use commercial software?

Nowadays you can get commercial solutions at a price that can easily be covered with a small additional charge to the client, so not exactly a terrible blow. If the client cannot take an additional ten quid in their stride then it probably wasn't a real business anyway.

After logging in and choosing the file a CT return option you should by default be taken to the new CT600 filing service. The old pdf is still there but only if you choose the option which says something like "looking for the old pdf version"

But only if you're the company, ie the taxpayer not the agent (unless you're pretending to be the company). I've since confirmed with HMRC that CATO is not available to agents as agents. There's also a bit on the ICAEW forum bemoaning the fact.
