Online Accounting package with Stock control

Online Accounting package with Stock control

Didn't find your answer?

Afternoon,

We have a client who has three small retail outlets selling products in the £20 - £200 rrp range.

At present due to low transactional turnover things have been recorded via excel and manually, but with expansion they need a robust, online accounting package which will enable recording of stock in a quick and efficient way.

One of the premises uses barcode readers but the others are logged manually each week and then transferred on to excel.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

We have looked at Quickbooks so far - We don't have any other clients using quickbooks so we don't know how good it is.

All help and pointers will be gratefully received!

Thanks

Sid

@Goodwinsj - thanks for the suggestion - it looks fairly good - have you used it yourself and what has your experience been.

@O.P. I have a client with a similar set up who uses Xero + Unleashed (stock control add on) and another that uses Brightpearl - both are happy with their choices

Do you want a POS system?

I might have misunderstood, but do you envisage:

1. Using a Point of Sale style system?

2. Some type of trade counter solution?

3. Simply use a conventional invoicing system and enter the cash takings later?

4. Do you need some type of Card processing option?

Hi Paul,

1 - not necessary, but potentially for the future

2 - no

3 - yes, as the 3 retail outlets are not manned 100% but are taken to the main cashier who manually logs the sale and takes payment

4 - no, they already have one independently - but if it could be linked in the future, it would be a bonus.

Xero

For robust and complete online accounting for this sort of business I'd go for Xero.  I don't have any Xero clients who need stock control but Xero has several add-ons to chose from.

We had one like this....

Client option was either to go with Line 50 hosted or use Xero with this plug-in:

In the end they went for the Xero option - cost was roughly the same overall.

Thanks for these guys - we'll be spending the weekend looking through them.

Xero + plugin seems a nice choice.

Does anyone have clients who have used the quickbooks?
