Online AML recommendations

Moving KYC checks online, what works for you?

Didn't find your answer?

Looking for a straightforward UK hosted service that either does the checks without needing ID documents or allows us to give the client a link to upload their ID securely without them emailing it to us first. And copes with clients who bring their docs to the office so we can copy and upload.

We have found CreditSafe does a good job. They offer a free trial as well so you can see if you are happy with them.

CreditSafe is good but the sales team are so pushy it puts you off.
I'm still with them but have been looking for new companies for when my contract ends.
Pay as you go with Veriphy keeps coming up as a good alternative if you don't do loads of checks

Yes I've been put off them by past approaches. Even had a "manager" tell me I was wrong when I complained about the sales tactics! Blocked their number.

Another vote for Veriphy

ICAEW (if relevant) offers a number of free PEP checks 3 a week) which can be quite useful even if not a PEP.

I've been using Smartsearch.com for a few years and I like it. The admin people are very friendly if you need help. I pay £5 per search. They may have cheaper charges for volume. I'll never need to know!

Highly recommend LEM Verify they send an email or text to the client and the whole verification process is done by the client using their phone. For this old school clients you can submit AmL requests directly too but I would use Veriphy for that.

Looks good. I see they hold the data only temporarily, how do you refer to it if you have an AML check? The data is in Eire, how does that work post Brexit? Wider question on what is the authoritative data protection law in the UK post-Brexit! Is ts GDPR for the foreseeable?

They send you a PDF of the report etc, and you can get it GDPR redacted for about 50p I think I pay. I then store it on my clients secure cloud file.

I wonder if I should look for a platform that stores the results redacted or otherwise and also acts as a KYC management system. Does the report just serve as evidence you have done the check on a client?

Which Veriphy option covers what we need, the AML check? Or ID Veriphy given that in most cases we don't need to check PEP & Sanctions registers.
