Online Helpdesk for clients and employees

I'm looking into whether it would be worth setting up an online helpdesk for clients and staff that integrates with emails and slack (we already use slack for internal comms) and also somewhere we can efficiently log client queries so we can spot trends and use the information to become more efficient, gather data, etc.

Has anyone done this already? if so, what system did you use, pro's /con's, are you happy with it, what has it changed for your business. How did you implement it?
