On a recent webinar on GDPR a suggestion was made that we put our Letters of Engagement on our website thus avoiding the requirement to print out a long letter for signing each time, also making it easier to periodically update the terms. I am struggling to see how we could do that when I always thought each letter should be tailored for each individual client, has anyone else done this successfully?

Seems a crazy idea to me as I agree with you no two Letters of Engagement are exactly the same and also that way they are not signed etc. Was it a HMRC webinar?!
We have our privacy policy, t&cs and supporting schedules on our website and include links in a bespoke 2 page engagement letter which the client signs. Previously our engagement letters were 20 pages so this is much better.
They are 2 pages so include the most important stuff, what work we will do, how much and payment terms and a clause about termination and limiting liability if I recall, but everything else is on the schedules and the t&cs on the website. I don't think anyone ever read my 20 page letter.
