Hey, was wondering if anyone could recommend a UK online payroll course with a recognised qualification?
I've spent many years processing payroll through excel to gross pay level (before pension, tax and NI deductions) but have had the support of an external provider to complete the final process, I'm now reviewing systems to bring this task in-house.
I'm very confident that I have good knowledge and have watched many HMRC webinars but want to have the confidence that I'm not missing anything

If you've no previous practical experience of payroll, whilst being supervised by someone who knows what they're doing, just passing any exam is not really helpful.
You just cannot beat practical supervised experience.

CIPP has an online course that lasts about 6 months and costs about £1300 and you get qualification at the end of it.
It's called the Payroll technician certificate and details can be found at https://www.cipp.org.uk/study/ptc.html
It's aimed at beginners to payroll but it will be fine for someone like you who has experience in some, but not all, of the payroll process.
It also qualifies you for Associate membership of the CIPP, which is well worthwhile.
