We are using the OrderWise system for our sales, ordering, stock control and dispatch. OrderWise is integrated with Sage 200, but only up to Spring 2018 Enhancements (DB 12.00.0013) released 24th April 2018......there are now 6 newer versions of Sage 200.
We are unhappy with OrderWise's strategy for keeping their system up-to-date (or not) with Sage 200. They market Sage 50 and Sage 200 together. They keep OrderWise compatible with the latetst versions of Sage 50, but not with the latest versions of Sage 200.
If we have to pay for OrderWise to make their system compatible with the latest version of Sage 200 we think this should be delivered quickly i.e. given that OrderWise market themselves as compatible with Sage and given how fundamental and important it is for an organisation's main sales, ordering, stock control and dispatch system to talk to an up-to-date and usable version of the organisation's accounting system.
As professional accountants and regular users of accounting software, does anyone have any thoughts and opinions on this e.g. given the information above, what service should we be expecting to get from OrderWise with regards their system compatibility with Sage 200?
Does anyone know of any companies who are using the OrderWise system with Sage 200? As well as the issue of non-compatibility with newer versions of Sage 200, there are also some things that do not work as they should within the current OrderWise integration with Sage 200, and we have struggled to get OrderWise to resolve all of these issues to our satisfaction. It would be great to speak to other companies who use OrderWise with Sage 200.

I've raised this with my colleagues who support our app partners to go off and investigate to see what the problem is.

I use Sage 200, but standalone.
In my experience, trying to use more than one system for any function is pretty toxic.
Sorry nothing constructive to add!
If it were me I would expect full two way integration between Sage 200 and OW. You clearly aren't getting this so I wouldn't be tempted to pay any upgrade costs to achieve it as it should simply be part of the licencing costs.
I don't know OW at all but I do know that there are lots of alternatives to Sage 200, particularly a version that isn't up to date, which will outperform what you've currently got.
I would support the other answers. Orderwise is a strong system but without integrated accounts you run the very real risk of data falling between the cracks. The integration to Sage 50 is very weak and it made it almost impossible to reconcile Debtors and Merchant accounts. Do not underestimate the potential impact of not being able to do this if you have a substantial number of transactions.
So I'd advise you to use OW financials (not perfect and inflexible - closer to Sage 50) at least in part so eg management of sub ledgers. You could then journal balances/moves into Sage 200. Or it may even be worth setting up a separate legal entity!
Is it worth considering a complete alternative? If so SAP business one is fully integrated.
Hi Sion - I work at OrderWise, so just wanted to respond to your question. I've had a look through our records and can see that we are in touch with you over this - an email has been sent to you today from our CSM team with information about our latest release which has updated Sage 200 integration.
Thanks,
Rich
