P11d submission now for 16-17

How do you get the info to HMRC?

Didn't find your answer?

I'm at my most belligerent right now, having waited far too long for HMRC to pick up the phone and given up, having tried using old payrolls and trawled the internet looking for forms to use.

All I want to do is to send Mr Bloggs' 16-17 P11D to HMRC. Granted it's a bit late, but that's not my fault.

Can you tell me how I inform HMRC please?

Hi Moonbeam
I did one earlier this month, printed the form and sent it to HMRC following their advice.

Yes - if your software won't do it, there's always paper.

HMRC either want this money or they don't.

My software submission was rejected. There are no paper P11D's for 2016/17 on the internet, so I presume I've got to use the current year's one and write 2016-17 at the top of the form.

Can't you just print a hard copy of the failed electronic submission?

I was going to do that and then I wondered whether they would insist on the p11d form.

I hope that's your only option considering all the fines that will be levied!

Yes £1200 on a taxable item of £146 is a lot to stomach.

I think the penalties are capped at the amount of tax due. I had a similar query on here - will try and post a link if I can find it!

That sounds a lot fairer. I will have a look myself as well. Thank you Chipette!

We submit a lot of Nil P11D's in time each year and then amend to actual once accounts etc done. Cuts down the penalty as it is then not late.

That's a very clever idea. This particular client of mine is a candidate for that.
