P50Z form for repayment of tax

Where to include repayment in tax return, if at all

Didn't find your answer?

I completed a P50Z for a client to reclaim tax paid on pension lump sums taken in the 2019/20 year. Now I come to prepare the tax return I cannot see where to include this repayment. Would appreciate guidance please!

It wouldn't go on a tax return.

Why would it not go on the Return? Surely the tax refunded would go in the box "tax already refunded by HMRC".

It goes in Box 1 at the top of page 6 of the return.

How your software gets it in there is a another matter!

There is a section in my software called Underpayments, overpayments and the top box is Tax refunded etc. This then populates in the required box 1 on page 6.
