Is anyone receiving P800s for clients already in self-assessment?

Rather annoying having to sort it out.

Had a few. I ring the agent helpline, tell them, and they vacate.

Yes, I have done this too.

Is it too much to hope for that HMRC can join the dots between PAYE and SA?.......

I have had these for 14/15 but none yet for 15/16, they are such a waste of time as usually wrong and client needs to be reassured etc.. However, maybe things are getting better as over half way through 16/17 now and none yet received for last year.

I was talking to someone yesterday who had done his tax return, and had the refund due, and then got back from holiday to a P800T saying he had overpaid and they would send a payable order if they heard nothing in 30 days.

I realise that the P800 is an automated process to reconcile PAYE but you really would hope that the system would be intelligent enough to recognise that a return hd been submitted for the year. That it isn't really doesn't bode well for the implementation of something like MTD
