Paiyroll - Has anyone used this product

Looking for impressions of Paiyroll

Didn't find your answer?

I came across Paiyroll (https://paiyroll.com/) on the HMRC website.

I can't see any client testimonials or references on their website.

Does anyone have experience of this software and would like to share their views of this or similar products?

Thank you,

Paul

If they can't even spell it right, how can you trust them to calculate the tax right?

Sorry, that was a joke. Sort of.

A bit like Artic Saviour with Sam the Scientist (not Professor Paul) saving the "artic" penguins on the latest episode of The Apprentice.

Ditto.

The name is a joke. You can hear the radio ad now can’t you, it would be a worse one than that Aussie accounting software.

Thought I saw a self recommended reply to a post on here a few weeks back and thinking then what a naff name. Can’t see it now so maybe it was deleted by the mods. Or my search attempts are failing me.

Their website looks naff too.

At a wild guess Moneysoft or Brightpay.

I'd never heard of them but, like others on here, agree that the branding is appalling. I'd never recommend software that looks like I can't spell. I looked up the company and it's called Innovatie Limited, so their branding is all about slight misspellings of 'payroll' and 'innovate'! This does, indeed, look like a presentation from the idiots on The Apprentice.

Time has passed from the original post here, but is anyone using paiyroll ? Despite the comments about the name (each to their own), their web site now looks up-to-date and there are a couple of testimonials on the site and also a couple of Trustpilot reviews - but it still doesn't feel "mainstream". Considering the cost of outsourcing payroll and the cost of our current Sage payroll solution, it looks like a value for money option (i.e. half the price) ?

I'll state upfront that I've never heard of this particular entrant to the market, but there are many new entrants each year and far fewer that stay the course.

However, "looks like value for money (i.e. half the price)" is to misunderstand the concept of 'value'. Price is only a relevant part of the comparison AFTER you've (a) identified exactly what you need from Payroll software, and (b) lined-up potential suppliers who meet those needs ... ready to compare quality of support, pricing, etc.

There's plenty of broken furniture (and slightly damaged cars) out there, and the same applies in the software industry - although it's harder to detect in advance if software is unreliable and/or going to be maintained/upgraded at the increasingly short notice given by HMRC.
That's not to say any of those 'warnings' apply to this particular software ... but caveat emptor!

Sorry but you are replying negatively without ANY true understanding of their offer. It is an existing user of the system I am looking for, with their own good or bad experience.

You also state I misunderstand the concept of value, how arrogant.

I am asking questions about this service precisely because I have a number of possible solutions that migh fulfil my specific payroll requirements and I am carrying out some basic due diligence.

It would have been arrogant if I'd wasted time pointing out that I was, until recent retirement, in the Payroll industry for over 30 years and so knowledgeable about most of the players and the weaknesses in many products that buyers often don't spot. But instead you prefer to assume hurt where none was (obviously) intended.

FWIW if you already "have a number of possible solutions that might fulfil my specific payroll requirements" then why did you not mention that at the start?
Presuming that only YOU need to know WHY you are asking a question is frankly as good an example of arrogance as can be found on this page ... without some context, anything you glean from here will be of uncertain worth (and posts are meant to be of use/interest to the wider membership not exclusively the OP).

Still, I guess it's an accolade that you selected me out of all the others who replied despite having no direct experience of this software. Gratefully accepted.

Pretty much the response I expected sadly, in my arrogance of course :-(

Yours was the first reply to my question, and I've replied to both replies so far.

I will continue my search.

Difficulty to beat Moneysoft on price for a single user with lots of small payrolls.

Thank you - I will add Moneysoft to my list. We need payroll for 40 staff with some paid weekly.

Yes, we use it, and it has been invaluable for the few payrolls we run using this software. Saves us loads of time with processing our most complex of payrolls (and my sanity).

Its API integrations and CSV uploads for collecting payroll input are where we save the most time. But the 'live' payslips that employees can view 24/7 help with capturing any payroll queries before payroll is hard run e.g. missing shifts, missing O/T etc, that we can then fire back to the line managers - normally these wouldn't be known about until after a pay run and the employee has their payslip using other software.

It's worth a look at.
