I have now got a new client, a partnership that ceased trading several years ago without submitting accounts or informing HMRC. Therefore I am seeking recommendations for a software package that will do several years instead of several in the current tax year as I currently use. Thanks

You have asked for advice on accounts software, rather than tax software but, assuming that this is not an LLP, then any accounts software will enable you to prepare the accounts, as these do not need to be submitted to HMRC or Companies House. Once you have prepared the accounts, you will need tax software that can file partnership tax returns with HMRC for multiple years (such as Taxfiler or TaxCalc, but why does your current tax software not allow this?).
If it is for an LLP, then has it been dissolved at Companies House (in which case there's no need to file there)? If it is still a live LLP and your client does not wish to dissolve it, then (and only then) will you need specific accounts software to file LLP accounts at Companies House. Taxfiler cannot yet file LLP accounts, so I'd recommend VT.
