RPS has deducted a sum from a claim of PILN for the jobseekers allowance that should have been claimed. But the claim was not made initially and when it was made eventually it was rejected for the reason that there was other income received during the Period of Jobseekers allowance from a part time job.
Question - Is the RPS still entitle to the deduction made for Jobseekers allowance which was never received or entitled to or they shoud reimburse?

The guidance here makes no mention of deduction for JSA.

Are you sure this is actually what was deducted - and not, for instance, National Insurance, or capping the pay to the maximum statutory redundancy?
The above-mentioned mentioned guidance also explains how to appeal payments considered to be incorrect.
I was slightly mistaken. s4.5 of the aforementioned guide does say they will deduct income-related benefits.
Contribution-based JSA is payable because the claimant is unemployed, seeking work and has paid sufficient NI contributions. AFAIK other income is not taken into account - which it is for Universal Credit.
I'm not convinced that the deduction is correct. I'd appeal; meanwhile you might want to talk to Citizens Advice who should have the latest Tolley(?) benefits handbook.
