PAYE RTI filing

problems with RTI

Didn't find your answer?

Anybody else having issues with RTI filing today?  Mine was going fine and then one said the gateway wasn't open.  The next one said it didn't recognise my password.  So I guess this is just the annual HMRC site not being able to cope with the expected traffic increase at tis time of the year?  Or is it just mine it doesn't like?

Same here.

Filed a few bits fine but now a CIS return won't go through, username & p/w incorrect apparently.

Password and user combination not known for us too - are HMRC after some late CIS300 penalties, do you think?

I'm taking a screenshot of the ones that have to be done today. Will need a defence for any penalties that result.

Just spoke to employer helpline who asked if I had updated the software recently. They are not aware of any problems as they have not had any/many calls yet. I updated whilst on the phone and it still did not work so now call the IT help desk.

"They are not aware of any problems as they have not had any/many calls yet".

Surprise, surprise. HMRC's systems are so weak they're not aware, when they fail?

MTD will resolve all this issues, seemingly glitch free and, on time. And, pink pigs will fly through the sky.

Thanks eckbookkeeping. Just tried again and it does say they are having technical difficulties now which is a step in the right direction.
But don't you get sick of these problems every year. I just want to get on with my bl**dy work in a very busy time!

I have successfully submitted two RTI's today. They looked like they were stalling and took longer but went through ok and got email submission receipts.

Interesting times. Just submitted a VAT return via XERO which has come back failed twice But spoke to the VAT helpline who say they have received it..... Not sure what to do now, guess I will have to wait to see if they fully reject it tomorrow.

HMRC have now confirmed to software suppliers that there are "availability issues", which are being investigated.

Perhaps they could spend money on improving their current systems instead of researching a system nobody in their right mind wants or needs.

Think you are all wrong. No service issues per HMRC.

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/pay-as-you-earn-paye-service-...

"Service availability
Full service available."

I wonder if they actually publish any TRUE record of their service availability & problems?

It was also down on Saturday for me. Both Saturday and a few mins ago, PAYE RTI Basic Tools fails to complete FPS/EPS submission, claims authentication details not recognised. But the same login details are still working today at https://www.gov.uk/paye-online.

SA gateway is down also - just tried submitting an amended 2017 tax return for a client. Taxfiler is unable to make a connection with the gateway.
So that's PAYE, VAT, CT, CIS and SA.

Flaming brilliant when it's the CIS deadline.

What are the chances HMRC will extend the CIS return deadline by a day then?

My guess is that HMRC won't be able to prevent their systems from issuing penalty notices. We will then have to appeal sending evidence of failure to file (how many of us have taken screen shots of the failure messages?). This means even more time wasted for agents.

Failed to verify 3 subbies yesterday so missed the CIS deadline ... wonder how much this is going to cost them (and more importantly us) in man hours to overturn penalties.

As usual when you need it, it goes belly up.

Trying all yesterday from Brightpay which was showing that HMRC were having RTI issues and delays in response.

Last night got about 20 emails saying the submission had gone through.

Today first one went through fine and now back to how it was yesterday.

Great thanks HMRC, only have 49 March submissions and year end ones to do......

I think the answer to that would clearly be NO!

There is so much disruption these days with Government online services that it has become normal.

As at 10:30am today I was advised by HMRC the following:

We are aware the system for submission is down and we are trying to get this up and running as soon as possible but have no time scale as to when this will be fixed.

We had resolved one of the issue regards the system yesterday but the submission server has gone down this morning.

Regarding this info not showing on their website they say that it will take time for the information to show there.
