PAYE RTI filing

problems with RTI

Didn't find your answer?

Anybody else having issues with RTI filing today?  Mine was going fine and then one said the gateway wasn't open.  The next one said it didn't recognise my password.  So I guess this is just the annual HMRC site not being able to cope with the expected traffic increase at tis time of the year?  Or is it just mine it doesn't like?

One of my clients uses Sage for CIS and they had trouble on the 19th too. By midday on the 2oth they started getting a different error message stating that their user credentials had failed. They still can't submit their CIS return for last month even now.

I've just had en email from their bookkeeper saying that she called the CIS helpline who said it was because they had updated their systems and they must ask Sage for an additional package.

Nice of HMRC to tell them. They hadn't heard anything from Sage either, who could at least have made their error message more intelligible and asked them to phone the helpline. HMRC make it compulsory to file online and then present us with problems like this.

Still, at least we can bill them for time wasted and the extra fees for the need to appeal the inevitable penalty.

I had issues yesterday and couldn't get any filed, but tried again today and all went through. My software flagged up problems at HMRC's end.

A client today called having had similar problems. After five or six attempts her programme finally came up with the scary message "Full Payment Submission Error Number 1000. Message: System failure. The submission of this document has failed due to an internal system error". The error log said the same thing. And looking on the internet gave no more info about what the error actually means. She then called me, and whilst I was researching it, tried again. I was obviously the magic that she needed; it went through that time. I think we can assume that the "system error" was HMRC's. She actually had to do a second on afterwards and that went through fine

Using Moneysoft but HMRC still having problem this morning. Tried to file but: 'HMRC having technical difficulties at the moment and may not recognise user and password'...

Nothing on HMRC website but Moneysoft do, so at least we know we haven't done something wrong!!!

I so look forward to MTD...

My Moneysoft is also still showing that but if you click on Yes, you want to file anyway, it does now work.

Thanks, monksview. Just tried it again now and it went through!

I was a bit sceptical about filing and bypassing as it said it may not recognise username and password.
