Paying Class 2 NI

Paying Class 2 NI

What is the process of paying Class 2 Nic if you dont have any income and aren't registered under self assessment,ie a home maker / voluntary worker.

You pay Class 3 voluntary contributions

Am I missing something?

Class 2 is (generally) only paid by self employed individuals.

If you're not self employed, you can't pay Class 2.

As before you can, however, pay the more expensive Class 3 NICs to 'buy' years for your state pension and certain other benefits
