payment to employee

Didn't find your answer?

Hi all just general question regarding CJRS will HMRC pay direct to an employee bank account or they will pay to employers and employers pay to employees through the wages? only because of some people work with a big firm been furloughed and don't know-how will get paid

Thanks

The employers should pay them.

HMRC won't deal with individual employees.

How do you think HMRC will know all the bank account details of every furloughed employee in the land?

Good point - but, for all the OP knows, that could be one of the questions on the claim.

There are two seperate but related things going on here:

1) Employer puts staff on furlough & pays them (this could have happened last year if the employer was short of work)

2) Provided conditions are met HMRC refunds a defined amount to the employer

It is the business bank account which is entered, the business having ticked a box to say that the pay received will be wholly passed onto employees.

The claim is completely separate to payroll, the employer should pay the employee at least as much as the claim and should have done so already.
