I have a client who is larger than our typical one, and have around 12 staff.
The director is the only one with bank access, and makes the payments to staff
He would like to simply send a list of what to pay and the total amount to a third party to sort out to avoid being tied to payday an the 20 minutes or so to file it all. He doesnt want any of the 12 staff doing it.
Does such a service exist as a standalone? he is really happy with his current payroll service (its a personal service from a small provider) and doesnt want to get rid of them just for this functionality which I know some of the larger ones will do.

How much is he willing to pay for such a service? I assume it’s not worth getting a client account setup and doing it yourself?
I did this a few years ago for a client, I didn’t charge specifically for it though as it was part of a larger accounts package.
I know the banks used to offer such a service, you had to fax the form to them so it was a few years ago now! Think it took them 3 days to make the payment by BACS.
Have a client with 30+ staff who we do the payroll for and on their behalf we notify the B 0f S by fax every month of the net pay
Bank charges £20 ish a month for the service
Natwest used to offer such a service, not use if they still do but can ask an old buddie of mine who works there if they do if you wish.
Out of interest how many days prior to payday does he get the amounts to be paid?
Was called NatWest Autopay. Not sure if it still exists but same service and believe it's run at the same centre as Barclays PayFlow which certainly does still exist.Natwest used to offer such a service, not use if they still do but can ask an old buddie of mine who works there if they do if you wish.
Is it weekly or monthly, and will there be any complications with the payments coming from a different name to that of his company?
So why not give the payroll bureau sufficient access to the bank account? Or set them up with direct debit?
They need to decide if the benefit of not processing the payroll file is worth the hasdle/cost of moving away from the current payroll provider to one that will do it...
If he banks with NatWest he should be able to submit a "bankline" file which his current provider should be able to output. I believe most banks have a similar facility. As far as I am aware no bureau offers this as a standalone service, we certainly don't. https://www.business.natwest.com/business/ways-to-bank/bankline.html
