Payroll in the cloud

Payroll in the cloud

Didn't find your answer?

We have recently been looking at the cloud accounting packages for our clients and have been impressed with what we have seen.

A couple of my clients are not particularly interested in operating a cloud accounting system, but they are interested in running a cloud payroll system. This is because they, rather than their bookkeeper control the payroll and tend to do it in the evenings or at weekend and would like the option of doing the payroll online when they are at home, or on holiday !

I’d be really interested to know the products that others use as a cloud payroll solution and their experiences good or bad !

Many thanks.

One bad experience

Wish I could say this one bad that one good, but all I can say is MYPAYE was a shambles.  As an indication, I told them so, had emails etc with all of them, dropped them over a year ago and still get emails about the system, as if I was a user (2 today about RTI, one correcting the previous erroneous one).

I've handed all my client payrolls over to someone else (yipee!) but will be doing mine & my wife's in the Cloud on brilliant Iris OpenBooks (FreeAgent)

I understand

That there is a Sage payroll service for very small businesses which operates in the Cloud. Haven't used it but I know it is out there

Thanks

Many thanks for your time Paul.

In fact, I emailed MYPAYE about two weeks ago to get someone to call me, but never got a reply; this made me a little suspicious, but then thought that they may be weighed down with RTI stuff! I’ve just noticed on their website that it states that they are RTI compliant, but they are not shown on the HMRC list.

Best

RTI Compliant is not the same thing as "RTI Recognised", which is HMRC's official process that checks software for broadly correct operation. My guess is that anyone can say that they're RTI Compliant (a bit like anyone can say they're an accountant)

Presumably they've written the functionality but not (yet) got through the HMRC recognition process. I expect that as a reputable supplier they will do so.

Payroo ( www.payroo.com ) is worth a look.

We have used fhis service for several years without issue.
