Payroll Manager - emails bouncing back

Anyone else had this?

We have a number of payrolls where we email the payslips to the employees

Whenever the employee has a gmail account the email bounces back as undeliverable

It doesnt happen on other software

I cant get a response from gmail, my IT guys refer me to MoneySoft and MoneySoft say there is no at issue their end

Has anyone else had this? It's been happening since March 22

Op - add the words 'accountingweb' to this search suggestion. Its been covered quite a few times.

Also, just read all forum posts daily and you will see these little gems, amongst the freeloading ranty business folk and scary cannot do double entry at level 1 brigade.

Hi, I've been using this forum +12 years, I just don't check that often anymore :) . Everyone seems to be having problems emailing out the payslips, due to a port issue or SMTP settings, or emailing out using a Hotmail addy, but those are not my issues as I can email out just fine.

I have checked all previous postings and no-one has mentioned bounce-backs from employee gmail accounts

Have the Gmail users set up an App Password:

I changed my gmail pw a few weeks ago and couldn't email payslips from PM so I set up an App Password and it worked fine.

Someone on here said that Gmail are changing settings on 31/5/22, so I am not sure if App Passwords will work after that date.

Yes I also have bounce-backs from employee email address on gmail. As the emails are bcc'd to me I just forward the bcc email to the employee from me. Annoying but it works.

I don't have any issues with sending (not on gmail) just bounceback at the recipient end which I would assume is to do with how gmail interpret the email they receive.

That's a good idea thanks. I will do that as a stop-gap until I sort the underlying problem. My IT guys have recommended:

• Add domain to Postmaster tools
• Setup valid reverse DNS records
• Check Google safe browsing
• Add to Safe browsing site status page
• Publish SPF record for domain
• Turn on DKIM signing
• Publish DMARC record
• Check that sending IP address has a PTR record
• Check SSL certificate

Sounds like Japanese to me!
