I am using Payroll Manager for some clients and I am facing a problem, each time I try to open the software, it says (Error opening XYZ LTD: something outside of Payroll Manager is blocking access to this file).
I have contacted software support but they couldn't offer help more than their online support?
Did anyone face this issue? Any help?
Thanks

Never known moneysoft not help when you ring up.
Normally someone else has the file open on different computer when you get that message - if its only you on a unique computer i would guess you have blocked yourself out - moneysoft helpline would be my recommended fix if thats the case.
If you are desperate it could be quickly simpy installing moneysoft on different computer and installing backup to get access to data - i undertand though you need the fix here. annoying if moneysoft arent playing ball
If Payroll Manager is already open and you try to reopen it again you get the message "Something outside of Payroll Manager is blocking access to this file". Close the file already open or switch off and restart computer.
Open task manager. Check if moneysoft has any running processes. Click it and select end task. Now reload payroll manager.
Apologies for the delayed stating of the obvious have you switched your computer off and on again?

Please - you mean "power cycling".
Hey Malik,
Could Payroll Manager be hanging because it's trying to print a pdf or similar, but has a virtual paper jam? Maybe visit your printers to see whether there's anything in process.
I've seen that message when I've accidentally opened 2 copies up, but close one and it's always gone away.
As others have said maybe there's something in the computer memory so try the infamous "turn it off and on again" - it does actually fix some things!

It fixes loads of things. It makes your computer reset.
So am I. Brrr!
You're not using Windows 7, are you? As of recently it no longer works on that platform. Separately, it might be your AV that's chewing at it. My Nortons recently upgraded itself (to its latest and most voracious version, and of its own accord, which it has an annoying habit of doing shortly before renewal time). Finally, have a look back at any software you've installed recently that may be sharing resources or ports.
If you go for a complete re-install - which is easy enough - do be careful your data backups are safely out of the way on a stick or on your desktop, lest the installation should create new backup folders and overwrite the old.
One nightmare about re-installing moenysoft is that it always used to reset the rti batch submission ticksheeeet thingymabob - so just a warning that the quick fix might have its downsides
