Payroll software

Didn't find your answer?

We have been using the HMRC basic PAYE tools software for preparing basic payrolls for clients.  However, we are getting a few more now and need something that is going to produce payslips too.

We have used Sage Payroll in the past, but it is just not cost effective, Moneysoft Payroll has come up as an option.

Does anyone has experience of Moneysoft?  Is it any good?  or do you have any other recommendations?

Thanks

Do not use Sage payroll - not only is it expensive, but it is a bit clunky in operation.

Moneysoft handles payroll brilliantly, but also auto-enrolment pensions, CIS contractor returns and forms P11D (unlike Sage Payroll without additional modules).

BrightPay is said to handle auto-enrolment pensions better than Moneysoft, but is slightly more expensive.

You won't go wrong with either Moneysoft or BrightPay.

I'm a big BrightPay fan, especially for its intuitive Auto Enrolment features, which effortlessly remove much of the administrative headaches surrounding enrolment and contributions.

Brightpay every minute of the way. Although running a bureau I have advised those firms running own payrolls. They pick it up quickly. All have had to do AE. They have coped remarkably and not had to ask for my advice. A great package with superb support.

Hi, yes, definitely take a look at BrightPay. I looked at Moneysoft and BP but went with BP couple of years ago. For me they're leading the way with Auto-Enrolment integration and are much more user friendly.

Steer clear of Sage - it is overpriced and ineffective!
You can't go wrong with Brightpay or Moneysoft.
Using Brightpay I can transfer my clients payroll from HMRC basic tools with a click of a button. It literally takes a few seconds to do the import. It is easy to use and excellent value for money.

Definitely avoid Sage and Iris. Previous discussions on Accounting web bring up Moneysoft and Brightpay as the two best options. I use Brightpay and find it very easy and the support is fantastic if you’re in a pickle. Worth every penny.

We have used Brighpay for about two years now and really cannot fault it. Excellent software for payroll processing and autoenrolment.
Support is also brilliant, which is so important when moving to new software.
