Heads up

Just a heads up to be wary if you use Payroo.

I've received an email from "Payroo" advising of a new usernmame and password, with a link to reset my details. I've never used payroo¬† ¬†They've sent it to my [email protected] email address which is rather annoying has only my payroll clients know it, although I have noticed the odd spam email coming through. I can only assume one of my clients email address has been compromised.

If I was trying to scam people running payrolls I would automatically send my scam emails to [email protected][domain name of accountancy firm] - don't necessarily assume that anyone's email has been compromised, it's an easily guessable address that thousands of firms use.

My domain name is not widely known and doesn't appear on google, as it doesn't have any website content yet so hasn't been indexed.

I got 5 of these emails yesterday, all to my direct email address (not [email protected]).

I deleted them as I don't use Payroo but I have set up a free account with them previously to test whether it was any good, so I assumed that was the reason.

Glad I didn't click any links now
