In the past I used to elect to have client's Self assesment Statements sent to me and this still happens for a lot of my clients. This year the payslip on the bottom has a box stating 'paid in by' filled in with my name. I assume other agents have this as well. This box should be blank as if the client does pay in a cheque at the bank a relative, friend or employee could actually pay it in.

whats this obsession with paper? do you need the statements? doesn't the client pay online?
No of course not , but why get the statements when you can easily check online and the client has the payslip when needed
I think the point is just that it is wrong. It's the wrong name on the payslip. I just watched the HMRC butcher's video which claims all you do is take a photo of the invoices and 'press a button and see exactly where you are'. And they can't even issue a bill with the right name on it. Did nobody look at a bill before they printed millions of them ?
And I've just got another bill today. The bill is made out to Mr Joe BloggsW1121R. Oh, that'll be my agent reference and as far as I know he hasnt changed his name to it. But guess it doesnt matter because they put my company name on the payslip. It's just a small thing, but really ?
And another computer generated letter from HMRC this morning. Addressed to XYZ Ltd at my address. It's a company based in Birmingham (I'm in London) with no connection to me whatsoever.
