Peoples Pension problems

Cannot access client's data

Didn't find your answer?

Is anyone else having these problems at the moment?
I've been trying to hack into client data to upload pension contributions since Sunday with no luck.

PP won't take phone calls. I've emailed them asking when they are going to sort out the IT issue and got a standard reply saying they'll take up to 5 days.

What a shower!

What is the nature of the problem?

I had a log in issue with them which was fixed by using a different web browser to log in. I did manage to speak to their technical team by phone but I did have to wade through the various options directing you to the website FAQ's before getting through.

I could login, but couldn't access the client data from there.
I use Chrome for everything.
Your email prompted me to login via IE and I had no problems at all.
So thank you.

We had a similar issue which their support did not seem to want to resolve - they certainly didn't reply, despite four or five emails on the subject.

Trying different browsers did not help - Chrome (Beta, Development and Canary versions!), Edge, Firefox & Safari were all tried and failed to solve it. Weirdly, the way they couldn't get through or resolve differed between the broswers.

Having worked around a similar issue with the National Lottery site, I decided to open a Private Browsing window on Firefox - Ctrl+Shift+P - and, bingo! it worked (so far). On Chrome it's an Incognito Window - Ctrl+Shift+N (and on Edge).

Private/Incognito windows require cookie acceptance every time you log in. From that, it would appear that the problem may be with a stray old cookie for the B&CE website.

Sadly, the first thing suggested by tech support at these companies is to clear all cookies and settings but, as that's a browser wide operation, this can cause issues on other websites you use. They forget that you don't only use their website!.

Give it a try and good luck

Interesting to know your experience. Luckily I only have one client on PP for now. They specialise in being as unhelpful as possible.

Have never had a PP problem and use them every month for our two schemes, having said that I run payroll early (6-10th) so last time was circa 10th July.

More and more online access seems to get compromised by browser used these days, I get repeated issues with Clydesdale Bank Business Online so now keep a number of browsers available for the next time it throws a fit (surpassed itself yesterday, would not log me on irrespective of browser tried)

Anyone else coming to the conclusion that these days software developers just do not care about users and are happy for us all to keep trying to fit Betamax or VCR2000 tapes into VHS machines as our failed attempts eventually inform them what they need to fix- my son and his friends have a lot to answer for.

Yes, as you say the browser business is becoming common across a lot of software.

That's odd - I did one with no problems on Sunday!

If you want real grief with your IT just do the recent Windows 10 update if you are still a Windows Live Mail user- I ended up yesterday having to create some registry entries to get my e mails working again. (I got number one son to assist, I am not that great with computers)

We find it works on all browsers except Safari. I am sure I was able to speak to someone in the old days, haven’t had to call for a while.
